CFL Prognosis: Everything you need to know about American football in Canada

American football fan or not, everyone has already heard of the NFL, the American league of this sport. But unlike other leagues, such as the MLS in football, the NBA in Basketball, the MLB in Baseball, or the NHL in Ice Hockey, the NFL has ONLY American teams and not a single Canadian team. So the Canadians have adapted, and we are creating their own league : the Canadian Football League .

Presentation of the tournament

Like all other American leagues, the CFL takes place in two major phases, the regular season, then the play-offs. Most often, the regular season runs from mid-June until November, then the playoffs then take place over 3 weeks, and the name of the big winner is known at the end of November, and is handed over the Grey Cup .

During the regular season, the 9 Canadian teams compete against each other, and are divided into two divisions, the East Division, and the West Division. Here are the 9 CFL franchises :

LCF prognosis and the course of the 2023 season

As there are only 9 teams, one of the franchises does not compete on the first day, this is the case of the Toronto Argonauts, who will open the 2nd day, by challenging the Montreal Alouettes on June 16 at 19:30. The 2023 regular season will even end in October, with a Calgary Stampeders - Saskatchewan Roughriders, saturday, October 29 at 22:00 .

Prognosis side, unsurprisingly, we see the Winnipeg Blue Bombers win their 13th championship , their 2nd in 3 years, after those acquired in 2019, and in 2021. They are currently on the 4 side, just ahead of the Saskatchewan Roughriders on the 5.75 side, who are also not in their first title, and the Toronto Argonauts and the Hamilton Tiger Cats, both sides at 6.00.
